PRESS KITS

It has become popular with the car companies to release their press kits with an accompanying CD-ROM. These CD's usually include easily accessible digital photography along with text content in a variety of languages. I was responsible for the programming in most of the press kits below. Special features include the ability to download image and text files to a selected location on the user's computer, and the CDs' ability to open and display PDF documents without Acrobat being installed. Some of these press kits are designed to allow for easy copy and paste of materials from the multimedia presentation directly into word processors and such.

This press kit was unique in that the Liberty was released under the name Cherokee in Europe. To simplify the authoring process, we built the entire multimedia presentation only once, and I set up a mechanism that automated the process of switching all of the occurrences of the car's name between Liberty and Cherokee at the flip of a switch. The saved a lot of time in having to master the two different CD's on a tight deadline.
